Description: Ice salad is a surprising plant that grows wildly on the coastline. It protects itself from the drying effects of the sea sprayed by covering its leaves and stems with little vesicles full of salted water, shining under the sun, like thousands of ice crystals.
Its special taste and its firm texture make this salad very much demanded and particularly refreshing. Purpose advices: With a slightly salted taste, it suits to a lot of preparations: raw, it can be consumed in a salad – cooked, it can be prepared like spinach. |
